About The Breed

  • Ancestors of this dog are thought to have arrived in Madagascar in the 16th century on trade and pirate ships. *Quickly becoming pets to members of the royal court and other wealthy families.

  • Arrived in mainland Europe and North America in the 1970s

  • The French bred the color out of the Cotons making them all or mostly all white.

  • Favored for their happy disposition and low maintenance
